For both audio and visual technologies, identify one traditional and one emerging technology from the book, and explain how you could potentially use all four devices in the classroom.
Audio
A traditional technology would be audiocassettes. I could possibly use this in the classroom by taping a lesson for the students to listen to in groups. This way the class could discuss and work together to understand the lesson. An emerging technology would be internet radio. This could be used in a political science classroom. Students could be assigned an exercise where they listen to a political radio station and evaluate the converstaion.
Visual
A traditional technology would be print materials. These are used in thousands of ways in the classroom. I would use it in my classroom by printing off helpful notes and study guides for my students. That always helped me a ton so I think that would be a very effective method. An emerging technology would be a document camera. I would use this in my classroom by having it display my work through problems and timelines. The students could easily watch me a follow along.

Chapter 6
Question: Based on the information in chapter 6, would you prefer to teach in a classroom that had more or less digital technologies? Why or why not?
I would prefer to teach in a classroom with more technology. I am not a fan of all the electronics the book was discussing in chapter six but I do like many of them. From my own experience, using multiple technologies has helped quite a bit when I have a difficult time grasping the information. Using touch screens and electronic white boards are a great way to get the students actively involved in class. A class can go up to the board or sit at their desk and physically do parts of the lesson for themselves. Flash drives and e-books are also an amazing invention because now you can easily carry around all your documents and a few books in a small, convenient device. These are some of the reasons I like having technologies in the classroom.
